Bergen County First Communion Photography | Ridgewood photography studio

Kids all over Bergen County are receiving their First Communions now and many parents want to capture this special time in their children’s lives.  And what better way to do it than by scheduling a First Communion Photo session at my Ridgewood photography studio!

This beautiful girl came in to my Ridgewood photography studio a few days ago for her First Communion pictures.  Her made-to-order dress, shoes and a bow were custom made at Little Nikki  in Ho-Ho-Kus (they have an AMAZING selection of beautiful things for babies and kids!) and looked absolutely stunning.  I am so glad I was able to capture these images that they will treasure forever!

Photographing beautiful teen sisters in Wyckoff | New Jersey professional photographer

Being a New Jersey children and family photographer I am known throughout Bergen County and Northern New Jersey for my lifestyle children and photography portraits, which I absolutely love. But every once in a while I have a session that’s a bit different for me – such was a case with these beautiful sisters.  This session was a birthday surprise for their Father – a GREAT and unusual gift, which I am sure he loved!

Originally we thought about having this session at my Ridgewood studio – their mom likes fine art black and white photos which the studio is great for.  But in the end we decided to have it outdoors and I am so glad we did – everything is in bloom and looks absolutely beautiful in pictures.  No wonder spring is one of my favorite times for outdoors photo sessions!

Photographing teenagers is so different than photographing younger kids!  I could not use my vast collection of knock-knock jokes so instead I just chatted with them. I did make them laugh but I (and their Mom!) loved their serious and thoughtful expressions I captured.  As you can see from the pictures, these girls are absolutely STUNNING and I felt like I was doing a high fashion photoshoot with professional models – even the wind cooperated blowing their hair in the right direction:)

I am sure their Dad was thrilled with their birthday gift and I know they will look at these images and love them forever.  So if you have older kids, schedule a session to get them in the pictures – you AND THEY will love the outcome!

A weekend in Nashville | NJ Photographer

I am not a runner – I am not fast or graceful when I run, and the longest ‘race’ I’d done till this year was 10 K.  But when in October a friend of mine asked if I wanted to go to Nashville to run a half marathon, it seemed so far away so I thought ‘why not’…

Training over the winter (and what a cold and snowy winter it was), getting up early on weekends and running in the cold on snowy and icy streets was not much fun.  A few weeks ago I was getting worried about whether or not I would be able to run it – after all 13.1 miles is a LOT of miles, but a very wise friend told me that all the hours I put into it was the hard work and the actual race was the ‘treat’.  She was so right!

And two days after I turned 39, I ran a long and very hilly course and crossed a finish line with tears of exhaustion, pain, happiness and pride!  The feeling was absolutely amazing and now I am hooked – already planning additional half-marathons!

This race was the highlight of the trip but spending 4 days with my girlfriends was such a treat!

I was a bit too excited about the race because I was taking pictures of everything and everyone, including a very friendly guy who gave me my bib  – and even ‘posed’ for the picture:)

There was a redneck comedy bus tour, which was very funny and surprisingly educational:2015-04-24 Nashville - Day 2_6_WEB

and MANY honky tonks:

Hoboken Family Photoshoot

The weather was gorgeous last weekend and  we wanted to take advantage of it and go somewhere fun for a family day trip.  But my girls REALLY wanted to play outside with their friends so by the time they got some playing out of their system it was too late to go anywhere far.  So instead we decided on an impromptu trip to Hoboken.  Victor and I were there just a week before for a date night and discovered a very cool park that we knew Mia and Alexa would love.

Now that I have a new VERY COOL Ona camera bag, I take my camera with me everywhere and I am so glad I had it with me then. The light was absolutely perfect and the setting (with the view of the greatest city in the world!) could not be beat!  Mia and Alexa loved exploring Hoboken, playing on the playground and taking in views of Manhattan.  They were not dressed for a ‘proper’ photoshoot (and neither were Victor and I) but I love the images we got of our family nonetheless!
