Girls weekend in Cape Cod!

I recently got back from a wonderful weekend with my photographer girlfriends. We come from different parts of North America (there are two awesome Canadians in the group!), we are from different backgrounds and ages but we ALWAYS have a blast together! This was our second annual trip – first one was in Chicago last year was so much fun, so expectations were set pretty high. And guess what – my very high expectations were somehow exceeded! Our hostess -awesome Heidi did an AMAZING job planning our get-away: from a custom made Welcome sign and a welcome letter, to a beautifully set table, a home made clam bake and red velvet cupcakes (YUM!), a well stocked fridge, a great itinerary – every single detail of the weekend was so well thought out! And that was just the beginning of one of the most amazing weekends ever!

We laughed, cried and laughed so hard we cried. We jumped on trampolines and swang on a swing. We tried to use a zip line (not very successfully!) and had midnight bike riding lessons (for yours truly!) in our PJs . We stayed up very late and woke up very early. We saw a sunrise, and swam in 62 degree Atlantic Ocean. We took outdoor showers (an experience NOT to be missed!) and hung out by an outdoor fire pit (Canadian girls really know how to keep the fire going!). We invented new words – e.g. pwallet – pronounced ‘pualette’ – a combo of a purse and a wallet, and played practical jokes on each other. We had clam bakes and lobster rolls. We hugged and we danced. We did some shopping and sightseeing and hung out on the beach doing nothing. We talked about serious things and were very silly. We took a zillion pictures.

And then we said our tearful good byes and made a promise to do it again next year!
