Family photos in Ridgewood | Three kids, two parents and one dog

We chose downtown Ridgewood as a location for this Ridgewood family photo session – Ridgewood is so picturesque and has so many cool spots for family sessions – there is a park (great for little kids) and lots of urban spots (great for not-so0 little kids, like these three).    These guys were so so easy to photograph – they were relaxed and laid back and were cracking at each other’s jokes so much that I hardly needed to do anything to make them laugh!  I can only imagine the laughter in their house – when they are not being posed by a photographer:)

Being a dog person I love when people want to include their dogs in their family photos – dogs ARE family and as such I think they should definitely be part of family photo sessions.   And I was thrilled that these guys decided to bring their handsome golden retriever for their session – he, just like the other three kids, was very well behaved!

Best of 2017 Contest | Bergen County Photography

Did you know that YOU can win a studio mini session?  Just enter a comment (scroll all the way down to do that) describing why you want to have a mini session and your name will be entered in the drawing!

It is time for one of my favorite business traditions –  Live Love Laugh Photos’ annual “Best of the Year” Contest!  This is my NINTH years holding it – I love being able to give back to my clients through this contest, and each year they tell me how much they appreciate me conducting it!

I took thousands pictures last year and had to enlist my trusty friends in the photography business to help me narrow down images to the top 25.   Now it is up to you to decide which image gets the title of the Image of the Year at Live Love Laugh Photos – and an AWESOME prize that goes along with it:)

THERE WILL BE FOUR WINNERS:

1) The image with the most votes wins.  To vote, cast your vote using the poll below (scroll all the way down to the end of the post, past images) and ‘like’ your favorite image in the ‘Best of 2016′ album on Facebook and on Instagram. The winner (an image with the most combined votes) will receive a 16×24 gallery wrapped canvas (valued at $500) of the winning image.

2) The Runner up will receive a $250 gift certificate to be used towards a Simplicity or a Signature session in 2018.

3) TWO random voters will receive a FREE kids winter studio mini session valued at $300!   It can be YOU!  See below on how to enter in a drawing for a mini session.

HOW TO WIN A STUDIO MINI SESSION:

There are THREE ways to win a mini session.  In order to increase your chances of winning you should do all of the following because each of the following will earn you an extra entry in the drawing:

On the Blog:

  • Leave a comment on the blog describing why YOU want to win a mini session – scroll below the images to do that.

On Facebook:

  • Share the ‘Best of 2017‘ album on Facebook – here is a link to it.  To do so just click on the ‘Share’ link to share it on your wall. You can write a nice comment as well:)  Just make sure you let me know that you shared the album – otherwise I won’t know that you did and you won’t be able to participate in the drawing.

On Instagram:

I will randomly select two lucky voters from across all three platforms and these guys will receive mini sessions!

BONUS:

Everyone is a winner because if you book a new Simplicity or Signature Session while the contest is running (by February 15) you will receive a free gift valued at $250 with your order!  So if you are thinking about having a session with Live Love Laugh Photos anytime in 2018, NOW is a great time to book.  Keep in mind you can hold your session anytime in 2018.

Please note:

  • Voting will run till the end of day on Wednesday, February 14.
  • I will announce the winners on the blog on Thursday, February 15.
  • Please keep things fair and vote only for one image – IP addresses will be monitored.
  • I reserve the right to disqualify entries or terminate/modify contest if necessary.
  • This content is not sponsored by Facebook.

And now without further ado, I present to you my favorite images of 2017!   Check out the finalists, cast your vote (using radio buttons below all images, FB and Instagram) and leave a comment below for the free session drawing.

Fall family photos in Ridgewood and at Ho Ho Kus brook

Family photographer has always been my first love – I just love photographing families, capturing bonds between brothers and sisters, mothers and sons, dads and daughters.  Throw in a dog or two into the mix and I am in heaven!  And while I love my Ridgewood photo studio (it is great for so many different types of photoshoots) I truly believe that no location is as perfect for a family as their family home; noone feels more at home than well, at their home! 🙂

But I also love to incorporate families loves and interests in their sessions so I was beyond thrilled when these guys chose to split their photoshoot between their Ridgewood home and a fishing brook in the nearby Ho Ho Kus where they go fishing pretty often.  This session was a blast – little sister M. a natural in front of the camera – she was silly and was hamming it up for the camera – I can definitely see Broadway in her future! 🙂  Her big brother T was not that thrilled about the idea of having his pictures taken (I get it.. it may not seem like such an exciting prospect to a 10 year old) but I brought out my love for Harry Potter and we bonded over that instantly!  He was the one kept showing me cool tricks he could do on his bike and asking me to take pictures of him doing them!

And at the end of the session when I asked the kids what they thought of their photoshoot big brother T said it was ‘good’, which I think is the biggest compliment you can receive from a 5th grade boy!:)   And as if that was not enough this Mom told me that she loved having sessions with me (these guys are repeat clients) not only because pictures come out great but because I really get kids and that’s the reason why I can capture images that truly reflect who these kids are.. And that, my friends, is exactly what I strive to do!

Returning clients come back for Christmas Photos at Ridgewood Photo studio

I love seeing ‘my’ newborns grow up… This handsome little loved having his pictures taken at my Ridgewood photo studio – he had a blast on the bed in this cute Christmas PJs, loved playing with snowballs in the winter wonderland set and were all smiles in the holiday sparkles set!  He even found time to do some light Christmas reading in between.

And I cannot wait to see and photograph him again in spring!
