Bergen County Christmas photos at Ridgewood photo studio

I have the most amazing clients – these guys drove over TWO hours (EACH WAY) for their Christmas photos at my Ridgewood photo studio! Every year their Mom picks out the coolest outfits and she did not disappoint this year either – loved their PJs, hand knitted Santa hats and very stylish ensembles they changed into after the PJs portion of the Christmas photos was done. Cannot wait to see them all again next year!

Ridgewood holiday studio mini session with two handsome brothers

Loved loved loved seeing these handsome guys at my Ridgewood photo studio when they came in a few days ago for their holiday mini sessions! I have not seen them since their NYC family photo shoot last October and I was amazed by how much they grew and changed – especially little brother D. They came in wearing their Christmas Star Wars PJs – how cool are those?!!

Milk and cookies were a huge hit – big brother was so excited about my holiday setup – he could not believe that they were actually for eating and drinking! And the look on the little brother’s face when he was given a plate of cookies was really priceless! I cannot wait to see and photograph them again when they do a family session next year!

PJs and Hollywood Glamour | Christmas mini session at a Ridgewood photography studio

It’s been five years since I’ve photographed these beautiful sisters and to this day I remember how much fun their Ridgewood family photo session was! So needless to say I was really excited about seeing them at my Ridgewood studio when they came for their Christmas mini sessions. The PJs and robes they picked out well really great with my milk and cookies in bed theme. But I absolutely adore the old ‘Hollywood glamour’ types of shots we got towards the end of the photoshoot! Cannot wait to see them again and photograph their whole family next year!

Family fun at a farm | Mahwah family photo session at Secor Farms

I consider myself a very lucky photographer because a lot of my families come back to me year after year after year. I love developing relationships with them, having our own inside jokes, watching kids grow and being there to document big and small milestones. And eventually the line between being clients and friends gets blurrier and blurrier and each photoshoot feels more like hanging out with friends than working. Such is the case with this family – this is their fourth family session with me and it may sound cliche but I really look forward to seeing them every year! For this year’s photoshoot we decided to do something different and have their family photo session at a farm. It may not be easy to find a working farm in the middle of Bergen County to have a family session at but since I am so awesome and go above and beyond for my clients I did just that! And not only were we able to have a session at a farm but we were able to do it before it was open to the public so we had the whole place to ourselves!

I think this was one of my favorite family sessions I’ve done in a long time – it was just so much FUN! The kids loved running around on a farm, playing in a pumpkin patch and exploring not one but TWO corn mazes! And to top it all off there were piping hot apple cider donuts that waited for them at the end of a photo session:)

These guys always order the same canvas collage and they always display it in the same spot in their house. Each year they replace it with a new one and ‘re-allocate’ old canvases elsewhere. This Mom told me that it makes her really happy walking up the stairs and seeing a fresh collection of their images displayed there year after year. And it makes me very happy coming to their house and seeing their happy images from the last four years displayed all over the house!

Fall family photo session fun in Ridgewood

I’ve been photographing G. and her family for over four years and between family sessions (we’ve done them in their home, downtown Ridgewood, in a park in Wyckoff – just to name a few), studio Christmas sessions and First Communions photo sessions I lost count of how many photoshoots we had together. What I do know though is that every single session with these guys is so fun and I literally look forward to seeing and photographing them. I love seeing being able to watch G. grow and document it along the way. When she was younger she told me that I was ‘a very good picture-taker’. That, completed with the fact that she LOVES her photoshoots makes for successful photo sessions:)

This family does a family photo session every year but G. is the one who asks her parents to schedule Ridgewood photo studio shoots just for her in between – Christmas and First Communion ones:) She loves the camera and the camera (and I!) love her!

I started this photoshoot with hanging out with G. in her bedroom (she has the coolest room!) – she was telling me about her favorite toys, lego sets (I was REALLY impressed with the start wars one!) and books. Then it was onto a very passionate game of Monopoly, which, I was told, took over TWO days to complete:) Afterwards we hung out in the backyard for some cuddly images with her Mom and Dad and Grandma as well as some action shots on her swing set. And once that was done we headed over to a park in Wyckoff for some leaf-throwing fun!:)

I love how these images – I think they capture this amazing girl perfectly. And I love that this family chooses to decorate their home with their family photos – I love seeing my work being enjoyed by my customers day after day after day!
