Fall photo session of my girls | Ridgewood children photographer

I was so behind trying to catch up on blogging children and family photoshoots from my clients that I completely forgot to blog this fall photoshoot of my own two kids! Now (at the end of February) seems like a great time to do it, so here it is:)

I have to come out and say it – I find photographing my own kids stressful. I am very easy going with other children and I make family sessions lots of fun – you can see what a family session is like with me here. But I think because I may have high expectations of my own kids (after all, they’ve been in front of a camera since the day they were born!) or because for them I am not an exciting and fun stranger but ‘old and boring mom’, I don’t particularly enjoy doing a ‘proper’ photoshoot of my girls. Because of the amount of stress (AND bribery) involved, I only do ‘proper’ photoshoots of my girls only three times a year – for their birthdays, in the summer at the beach and in the fall. But I do have to say that I do love the OUTCOME of these photoshoots and after the stress of what’s involved in them wears off, I am thrilled to have images that capture my children.

This was the case with our fall photo shoot – the girls were being kids and did not really follow any of my artistic direction. But they were being their silly selves and I did capture images that to this day put a smile on my face:) Hope they will make you smile as well:)

Ridgewood newborn photographer – morning in the studio with little Ms. L.

There are so many things I love about my photography studio in Ridgewood – (great location right in the heart of downtown Ridgewood is definitely on top of the list) but one of my favorite things is great natural light I get there. It works so well for newborn photo sessions because it is set up for my smallest clients and the light is so beautiful and flattering. For newborn photography sessions my clients can choose between having a studio newborn sessions (those are best done within 10 days after the baby is born) or an in-home lifestyle newborn sessions. And for local clients in Ridgewood I also offer a combination of a studio and a lifestyle at home session so they can have the best of both worlds.

K. family is a Ridgewood family and they came to my studio for Ms. L. newborn session when she was just under two weeks old. She was so beautiful and dainty and her parents and grandparents are completely in love with her. She fought sleep in the beginning – she was very curious to see what was going on and it seemed that she did not want to miss even a minute of fun (which was what photo sessions with me are:) but eventually she fell sleep and even gave me a few smiles. I don’t think there is anything better than a baby smiling in her sleep, don’t you?:)

And I love the images I got with her parents (and her grandmas) – I think their love for little L. shines through!

a 20 min studio session for up to 2 children aged 6 months and older
7 edited images to choose from
3 5×7 gift prints of your choice

As a special add-on, all edited high resolution images are available for an additional $350, which is a bargain, if I may say so myself! A selection of boutique products, such as canvases, metal and framed prints, is also available for purchases.

These sessions are perfect for capturing precious milestones in between Signature sessions. Activity and fun galore at the studio

Check out this handsome little guy I photographed a couple of days ago at my studio in Ridgewood! This was his second session with me and I loved seeing how much he has changed in a year. His (well, actually his Mom’s) awesome sense of style remained – he is one of the most stylish kids to have graced my studio lately.

We had time for everything – silly jokes and huge smiles, dancing to Spiderman and shooting spider web, playing with dinosaurs and even kicking back and reading a book! It was a great session and I cannot wait to see him next time – when he is a big brother!
