A warm spring day in the city

Every once in a while we drive into the city for a quick ‘half-day trip’ – and we did just that over the weekend.  We were planning to take the girls to Governor’s Island but they had other ideas so we followed their lead and ended up exploring South Street Seaport and Battery Park with them – our old ‘hood’!

Mia and Alexa loved ‘riding’ citibikes – and my ‘riding’ I mean pedaling locked bikes (as they cannot be rented out to kids younger than 16).  Mia tried teaching me how to ride one – did you know that I cannot ride a bicycle?!   She told me that there are TWO important things about riding a bike : ‘knowing how to pedal and knowing how to balance’.  The lesson that day focused on ‘pedaling’ part:)
