I love family photo sessions and I love maternity photo sessions so you know that I definitely LOVE combo family/maternity photo sessions! These guys moved to Bergen County from Las Vegas and were looking for a Bergen County family photographer to capture their growing family. We chose on downtown Ridgewood as a location for their family photoshoot. I’ve done lots of photo shoots all over Bergen County and I have to say Ridgewood still is one of my favorite spots. Downtown Ridgewood has it all – a great variety of textures, colors and cool urban spots and yet there are still plenty of parks to capture images with beautiful foliage or blossoming flowers. So if you are trying to find a cool photoshoot location for your Bergen county family photo session definitely check out Ridgewood. And there are lots of amazing restaurants there so you can make a whole day out of it and head out to lunch or dinner after the photoshoot.. But I digress:)
These guys were a joy to photograph – all three of them have the most dazzling smiles – see for yourselves! Mom was absolutely radiant (and I know that I sound like a cliche but it is TRUE!), soon-to-be-big sister was full of spunk and Dad was absolutely in love with his two girls! I love their choice of outfits, the weather cooperated, little D. was full of giggles and all of that helped me create fun images. I think these photos capture their love and joy for life, don’t you?!

As a family photographer I believe that pictures are so important. And I do follow my own advice when I comes to photo sessions – we hire a photographer at least once a year to do our family photo session. But I also think that it is important to get images of Moms and Dads (without kids) so this year – Victor and I had ‘us only’ photo session. First time we did it was when we were in Edinburg, Scotland; this year our location was even more photogenic – the Eternal City – Rome! We’ve been to Rome once before during our Italian honeymoon back in 2003. But unfortunately all I remember about Rome from that trip was how hot it was – we were there in July during one of the worst heat waves they’d seen.
This time around the weather was more perfect and I have to say that I was completely blown away by how beautiful this city is. For the longest time Paris was my favorite ‘go-to’ European City but Rome pushed Paris out of my ‘#1’ european city spot (New York still has my heart) – the whole city is like an open air museum! We met with our photographer by Roman forum and she took us to places that we did not know were there! After the photoshoot Victor, who does not mind being photographed but let’s be honest – this is not his idea of a good time – told me that the session was ‘so fun because we got to discover lots of cool places’! And here are some images that were captured during our meandering through Rome.
