I still remember the very first email I got from this Mom W. when she reached out to me back in 2011.   She was looking for a photographer for their Ridgewood family photo session and said that as she was growing up her Mom always had pictures of her and her brother taken on a yearly basis and how wonderful it was to be able to watch them grow up through the photographers while building a relationship with their photographer year after year.  From the minute I read that email I knew that we would hit it off and I was not wrong – am I ever? 🙂  I’ve known them for many years now and they feel a lot more like friends to me than like clients.  I was overjoyed as I watched them turn from a family of 3  to a family of 4 and eventually a family of 5.  I cried when I found out that one of their dogs crossed the Rainbow bridge; and when our Millie died this Mom was one of the first ones to reach out to me.   Having clients like that who come back to me year after year and trust me to capture their family memories is a privilege that I don’t take for granted.

I love doing lifestyle family sessions at people’s homes because they feel at home there!  And that’s what we did with these guys – we started the photo shoot in the kids bedrooms

and then headed outdoors for our must-have family image by the front door – I love that this image year after year after year!

and then we headed over to Habernickel Park in Ridgewood for some fun photos.  I was very proud of myself braving this crazy jungle gym balancing my camera and trying not to fall – and this Mom was holding me by the loopy thing on my jeans so that I would not fall!  Things we do for a good photo:)
