Our Easter Celebration

I was raised in the former Soviet Union where our church was Communist party.. I was born to a Jewish Mom and a Christian dad. When I was one year old was baptized in secret by my paternal grandparents (it had to be done secret because my dad was a member of the party at that time and going to church was a big no no back then.). When I was 16 my Mom gave me a necklace with the star of Davis and told me that she wanted me to have a choice between wearing a cross and wearing the star because I was just as Jewish and I was Christian. When it was time to plan our wedding my fiancé wanted to get married by a priest and we did. When my sister got married, her fiancé wanted them to be married by a rabbi and they did. We dye eggs for Easter and decorate a Christmas tree and my sister prepares a Passover Seder – although they also decorate a Christmas tree.. There is  is really no point of this long rambling post other than to say that no matter what you celebrate I wish that your celebration is a happy and a joyous one. Happy Easter, happy Passover and happy spring from my two human bunnies and one canine one!
