Silhouettes portraits in Ridgewood | Photographing my own family
I always try to challenge myself when it comes to photography. When I am photographing children and families I make sure that I don’t do same thing over and over again and that my clients get a variety of images that are unique.
Even when I am not out and about photographing clients I am always looking to sharpen my skills: participating in photography forums, going to workshops with other professionals, experimenting with various techniques. The recent addition to my photography skill set is silhouettes. I’ve always loved them: they are so simple and powerful, lack of light removes all ‘distractions’ in my opinion.
So this past weekend we drove all around Ridgewood trying to find a perfect spot for me to photographer the girls and Victor. We’ve exhausted all our options and although the location was not perfect I am so happy with how these images turned out. Alexa is considerably lighter in weight than Mia so she got throwing up in the air a lot more than Mia did:)
