Our family photo shoot in HK

Ever since we took our kids to Venice 3 years ago and I hired a photographer to do our family photo session as a birthday present to myself there, I’ve been addicted to family vacation photos and we’ve tried to do it every time we go on a trip with the girls.  This was Mia and Alexa’s first trip to Asia and of course I had to document this momentous occasion with a professional family photo shoot.  After a lot of research I decided to hire Jenna from Lucky Fish Photographer – I liked her lifestyle approach to family photos – and she was great!

The weather in HK did not want to cooperate – the night before our photoshoot it showed 100% chance of rain for the morning of our photo session so we decided to postpone it by a day.  But when we woke up the following morning (at 5 AM thanks to jet-lag) it was cloudy but dry!  So I called Jenna and she was able to switch our session back to that morning!  After super quick showers for all four of us and last minute outfit selection (all my carefully planned and perfectly coordinated outfits that I shopped for a months before the photoshoot did not work because it was too cold to wear them!) we met with Jenna for our morning session.

The weather was not perfect, neither were out clothes (if i’ve ever photographed you then you know I tell you to AVOID WHITE!) but I did not care.. I was in Hong Kong – one of my favorite cities – with my family, we were healthy and we were all together and how awesome was that?!   We started in Kawloon, took Star Ferry to HK island, cabbed it to a super cool temple that Jenna told us about about and finished up at Wan Chai market where we bought some delicious tropical fruit and finished our photoshoot.

And now that we are back I cannot wait to create an album with these images – I am sure we will be leafing through its pages many many many times.
