Photographing kindergartners in Ridgewood

Today is a huge milestone for my family – the girls started kindergarten!  They’ve been looking forward to it for WEEKS, counting days till the start of school.  They were so excited picking out their new backpacks, buying school supplies and packing up everything a week in advance so that, as Mia explained to Victor, ‘they would not miss any school supplies and would not be late for school on the first day’.  And when I was trying to take pictures of them in the morning before school Mia told me that she could not pose for pictures because she was just ‘too excited to go to school’!

Victor worked from home today so that both of us would be able to take the girls to school.  Elementary school the girls go to is right down the block from where we live so we walked (and the girls skipped) there.   Seeing them look all grown up with their new backpacks, waiting in line to get inside their class room made me so emotional that I shed a tear (or two or three).  Mia and Alexa were all smiles though:)

And just like that I became a Mom of TWO KINDERGARTENERS!
