Did you know that other that my kids’ professional newborn session I was hardly in the photos with them till they were almost 2.5 years old! I did not love the way I looked and was not happy about all that baby weight I was still carrying around (some of it is still here, 10 years after their birth!). And then one day I realized that if something happened to me, my girls would hardly know what I looked like. To them it would not matter if I was not the same size I was before I had them… they would just want to see their Mom hugging them, playing with them, loving them. And it also occurred to me (that day was full of big realizations) that years from now I would not care about the extra weight or the fact that I was not my ideal size… I would just look at the images and see how young I was and how happy I was playing and being with my kids.. So that day I gave my camera to my husband, we went to a local park and he took a whole lot of pictures of me and my girls.  Since then we’ve done a professional family photo session at least once a year and I always always always ask our photographers to get images of just me and my girls.
