Holiday Pictures with Bergen County photographer

One of my favorite things as a Bergen County family photographer is watching families grow year after year. I cannot say how excited I am to see my ‘old’ families come back to me for their annual photo sessions – I get to catch up with parents, be amazed at how much the kids have change and capture them year after year.

If these guys look familiar it is because you’ve seen them on the blog many many times – this is their fifth session with me! I first met them when Ms. E. was still in her momma’s belly -and big brother W. was just over a year old! Every year we choose a different setting for their Ridgewood family photo session – we’ve done pictures at their Ridgewood home, in a park in Wyckoff, in downtown Ridgewood and at a farm in Mahwah. But every year we always do the same shot – on the steps of their beautiful Ridgewood home with their dogs. I think it is so cool that we have the same photograph captured year after year after year!

The Mom said that this year she just wanted to capture their kids beautiful and sweet faces and my Ridgewood photographer studio is a perfect location for that:) But even though we spent majority of the photo session at the studio, we did get the annual shot in front of the house!

I love this family and I can honestly say that after knowing and photographing them for five years I think of them as my friends, not just my clients!

A beautiful girl at our Bergen County Photography studio

I am known throughout Bergen County for my lifestyle on-location family photography – I just love creating beautiful family portraits for families all over New Jersey. But having had my natural light photography studio in Ridgewood for two years now, I have to say that I enjoy studio photography as well.

My new photography studio is located in Ridgewood and is absolute STUNNING – I’ve received compliments on it from every single person who saw it – I show it off every chance I get:) It is huge and natural light there is gorgeous! I’ve had several photoshoots there already and love shooting there – it is a great place for to photograph newborns, babies and kids of all ages.

A few days ago I met and photographed this stunning girl at the studio – this was her first professional photoshoot but she was a natural in front of the camera! She has the most amazing eyes with some of the longest eye lashes I’ve seen! I was my silly old self at the session and at the end of the photoshoot she told me that I was ‘a pretty funny person’. For someone who strives to make each and every session fun, this was one of the highest compliments I could ask for:)

Brother and sister photo session at Bergen county photo studio

I love shooting at my natural light photography studio in Ridgewood during colder month. But even when it gets warmer outside, my studio works so well for kids and babies photo sessions – it is a perfect safe environment with great light and fun toys – no wonder kids love it there:)

Big sister K. was serious at first and that was a great opportunity for me to capture her thoughtful looks – she has such big thoughtful eyes! And her baby brother C. was a complete opposite – he was one of the smiliest babies I’ve seen in a long time! I loved spending an afternoon together and getting beautiful photographs of them with their stunning Mom! And I cannot wait to photograph all four of them (with their Dad) for their family session in the fall.

My Own! – Seven year old portraits at the studio

It took me a MONTH (as Alexa kept reminding me) but it is better late than never and this week I finally took the girls to my photo studio for their 7 year photo shoot. Even though they don’t always want to have their pictures taken (they suffer from an acute case of PCS (Photographer Child Syndrome) and they don’t always cooperate, I still love doing their birthday photo shoots, documenting what they are like at this age, what they like to read, what they like to play with and see how much they change from year to year. And of course we always take pictures with Big – their teddy bear that the girls’ve had since they were 5 months old!

I did not think that they’ve changed much from last year, but seeing their 6 and 7 year old pictures side by side made me realize that my babies are definitely not babies any more, their faces lost last traces of baby fat, they thinned out and grew, they lost baby teeth and got grown up teeth and now they definitely are BIG girls. Of course I knew that, but seeing these pictures and comparing them to last year ones made me feel very nostalgic… I love having 7 year olds but it is OK to miss my 6 year olds, right ? 🙂
