What do you get when you take a Ridgewood family with 3 very energetic, funny and handsome boys, add 2 photogenic parents and a very well behaved dog? You get a very fun family photo session! There were lots of laughter, lots of silly jokes and LOTs of funny faces. And when the Mom saw the ‘funny faces’ picture she told me that it REALLY captured all her sons:)
Lena Antaramian of Live Love Laugh Photos is a Ridgewood based professional photographer known for her lifestyle and natural approach to family and children photography. In business since 2008, Lena photographed numerous families from Ridgewood, Wyckoff, Saddle River, Cresskill, Allendale and other towns in Bergen County. If you are looking for a family photographer for your holiday portraits in Northern New Jersey reach out to us to book a session.
I was going to write a nice blog post about photographing these beautiful, funny and spunky kids and their gorgeous momma at my Ridgewood studio. I was going to write about how I hard laughed watching K. dance to Meghan Trainor or listening to her ‘directing me’ and asking me to take a picture of her feet and the feet of her doll (which I did!) or how funny her expressions where or how she was the feistiest 6 year old I’ve seen in a long time. And I was going to write about her sweet brother J. who loves his blankieand his stuffed; and how sweet his giggles were and how much he loved snuggling with his Momma. But instead I will just use a few quotes their Mom posted on FB when she saw their pictures:
“We did a session with Lena today and she was magic. She gave me permission to not stress about my kids and their behavior. She made them feel so comfortable and relaxed. She coaxed out their real personalities by inviting through fun, humor, and laughter – and encouraging them to bring along their favorite toys (in this case a blankie and favorite stuffed animals). It was just so good!!! This my friends, is why Lena Antaramian does what she does and is who she is.
Anyone can take a photo. But to capture the true essence of a 4 year old is a whole other story! This is literally a snap shot of J. at 4 years old. His every night. His ‘guys’. His ‘blankie’. His world. His life. His brain. His experience. And somehow, Lena captured it in a 30 minute session. Thank you mama!!!!”
She gets me… This is exactly why I do what I do and why I love it so.
This is a second time I got to photograph this beautiful little girl! I first met her last year when her Mom brought her to my Ridgewood photography studio for her one-year-old portraits. I was so amazed to see how much she grew and changed in just a year! Is not it amazing that as an adult I don’t change at all (ha!) from year to year and yet when I see kids that I photographer every year for their annual portraits they change so much!
This C. was just bursting with personality – she was happy and silly and cute all at the same time! I always tell parents to bring toys, books or other items that have a special significance to them and to the kids and this Mom brought these adorable wooden ducks. They photograph really add (I just love the pop of color they add to the pictures). But the coolest thing is that this girl’s Grandpa made them for her! How cool is that?!
I am known throughout Bergen County as a family and children photography and most of the children I photograph are young – anywhere from newborn to 7 or 8 year olds. So it was a nice change to photograph these beautiful teenage sisters at my photography studio -they came in to get pictures for their Christmas cards. I did not need to make funny faces or tell them silly jokes – instead we just talked about school, sports and colleges.
Wow, what a busy season this has been! I’ve met and photographed so many adorable kids for their holiday cards this year! I finished editing all holiday sessions (YAY!) and now I am slowly catching up on blogging them all – so there will be lots of great images from the holiday sessions I had at my Ridgewood photography studio!
In short 3.5 years I think I had 8 sessions with this little one! She is one of ‘my’ newborns – I’ve been photographing her since her Mom’s maternity session and since then I’ve had the pleasure of watching her grow and change year after year. I get excited about seeing this family every single time – it is wonderful catching up with them and being amazed at little M. This kid has SO MUCH personality – she is funny, sweet, smart and super squeezable! Her Mom told me that at pre-school they were talking about their holiday tradition and ‘going to a studio to take pictures with Ms. Lena’ came up as one of them. And apparently, on the back back from this photoshoot poor M. cried most of her car ride home because she did not want to leave the studio because she had so much fun with Ms. Lena. If that’s not a successful session I don’t know what is;)
And now without further ado I present to you images from M. Ridgewood holiday session that we had at my natural light photography studio in Ridgewood!
