Want to increase your Live Love Laugh Photos IQ? Well you are in luck them because recently Rock the Shot (a very popular photography forum with over 175,000 members) reached out and asked to feature me on their website! They spotlight top professional photographers from all over the world so as you can imagine, being interviewed by them is a HUGE honor and I was thrilled to do it. You can read the interview here.
And a post is not a post without a picture so here is one image from a recently family photo session I had in Mahwah New Jersey.
Yay – School is back in session! And here is a picture of four very excited second graders – my girls and two of their bestest friends who live right next door to us! And if you are like me, you did a little dance when you dropped off your kids at school:)
What do you think of these children portraits I took at my Ridgewood photo studio a few days ago? They are pretty great, if I can say so myself:) Now what if I told you that I got all these photographs (plus more!) in just 10 minutes! That’s right – another 10 minute photo shoot! My best friend was visiting me with her kids – they wanted to check out my studio and while we were there I decided to do a super quite photo shoot.
Beautiful children (inside and out) and their equally amazing Mom, great light and a professional photographer who knows what she is doing – that’s a perfect combination for great pictures! Yep, I am pretty modest, I know:)
Now if you think these children photographs are great, think about what amazing pictures of YOUR kids and YOUR family I can create at my New Jersey photo studio? And your shoot will take more than 10 minutes:) So if you are looking for a New Jersey professional photographer to create beautiful natural children portraits of your little (and big) ones, book your session today!
Every year during our family beach vacation in Ocean City New Jersey we go to the beach where I photograph Victor and the girls. And each year this photo session takes about an hour or so. This year we had to do a super-expedited version because the second we pull up by the beach to do the shoot, it started raining and we saw lighting! I was so disappointed (convincing my girls to wear dresses takes forever!) and even thought about skipping our annual beach photo shoot. But when we started to drive back home the rain stopped, we did not see any more lighting so we decided to try our luck and headed back to the beach.
The sky looked very menacing so I knew I had to work fast. And knowing my girls (and the fact that they never take direction from me) I just decided to let them do what they wanted to know, which was run around on the beach. And would not you know it, 10 minutes into the shoot we heard thunder and it started raining hard so we had to pack up and leave. But I am pretty happy with the beach photos I was able to get in literally 10 minutes!
I am not a runner – I am not fast or graceful when I run, and the longest ‘race’ I’d done till this year was 10 K. But when in October a friend of mine asked if I wanted to go to Nashville to run a half marathon, it seemed so far away so I thought ‘why not’…
Training over the winter (and what a cold and snowy winter it was), getting up early on weekends and running in the cold on snowy and icy streets was not much fun. A few weeks ago I was getting worried about whether or not I would be able to run it – after all 13.1 miles is a LOT of miles, but a very wise friend told me that all the hours I put into it was the hard work and the actual race was the ‘treat’. She was so right!
And two days after I turned 39, I ran a long and very hilly course and crossed a finish line with tears of exhaustion, pain, happiness and pride! The feeling was absolutely amazing and now I am hooked – already planning additional half-marathons!
This race was the highlight of the trip but spending 4 days with my girlfriends was such a treat!
I was a bit too excited about the race because I was taking pictures of everything and everyone, including a very friendly guy who gave me my bib – and even ‘posed’ for the picture:)
If you have not been to Nashville, let me tell you – there are cowboy hats and boots at every corner:
we found out that ‘country music ain’t dead’… and there was LOTS and LOTS of it:
There were cool dudes on bikes:
and giant guitars:
and more cowboy hats and silly bags:
There was a redneck comedy bus tour, which was very funny and surprisingly educational:
and MANY honky tonks:
very touristy but cool nonetheless stores:
and even General Lee (and as a side note, I saw first my very first episode of Dukes of Hazard!)
It was a lovely weekend – I am so glad that I got to hang out with my old and new friends and make memories to last a lifetime!
