There is nothing sweeter than Dads and their baby girls!

Here is a session spotlight of a session I had with one of my favorite new clients.  I first ‘met’ baby M. during her Mom’s maternity session, then we had a wonderful newborn session in their home in Bergen County, New Jersey and after that I was thrilled to see her again at her 4.5 session.  I loved seeing baby M. grow and could not get enough of her chunky legs, huge cheeks and super sweet toothless smiles!

Her Dad had to work during her newborn session so, with the blessing of the family, I focused on capturing a very loving relationship between this wonderful Dad and his sweet little girl!  I just love working with this family – it feels that I’ve known them for years, and I cannot wait to see baby M. again for her next session!

Family Adventure

I think we are raising future world-travelers because the girls love going on ‘adventures’ with us… Our ‘adventures’ are not terribly exotic or exciting; but a simple fact that we stay at hotels thrills them beyond belief.  So the other weekend we decided to take them to a water-park in Southern Jersey and make a weekend out of it.  The girls loved playing in the room as much (if not more!) as going to the water-park  – good thing that they are easily entertained:)  And since we were so close to Philly, the girls wanted to go to the Please Touch! museum, which they absolutely love and we happily obliged – I think Victor loves it as much as the girls:)   The weather was perfect, Mia and Alexa behaved and it was a great weekend full of good old quality time.  Here are some highlights:

‘Mandatory’ bed-jumping:

a very long and informative pretend phone call with their Grandparents:

going away is not a reason to skip practicing your ‘writing’ :

and of course, who can pass a full length mirror without stealing a peek and admiring yourself a little:

posing for Mommy:

and playing peek-a-boo:

watching a  movie:

and goofing around before going to sleep:

– visiting ‘Please Touch!’ Museum:

It was a perfect weekend indeed!

Best of 2011

It is time for my third annual ‘Best of the Year’ contest!  I had lots of great sessions to choose from and at first ended up with 50 candidates for the contest.   I finally was able to narrow them down to top 21, although it was almost as difficult as choosing favorites among my children: )  Now it is up to you to decide which image gets the title of the Image of the Year at Live Love Laugh Photos – and the grand prize that goes along with it:)

There will be THREE winners:

1) The Image with the most votes wins (to vote use the poll below). The winner will receive a 16×24 gallery wrapped canvas of the winning image  or an image of their choice from a Signature Session in 2012.  And as if that was not enough, the winner will also receive $100 print credit towards a Signature Session in 2012.

2) The Runner up will receive a $100 gift certificate to be used towards a Signature Session in 2012.

3) Please add comments along with your votes: to thank everyone for voting I will randomly select one of the comments and the submitter will receive a FREE spring mini session all inclusive package valued between $250 and $350!  Mini sessions will take place in Bergen County and you can keep it for yourself or give it to friends or family in the area.  So go ahead and submit a comment, I would love to hear from you!

A day at Turtle Back Zoo

We are always on a look-out for fun places to take Mia and Alexa and fortunately there are so many great kid-friendly places close where we live.

Back in May (yes, I am that far behind in personal blogging) we took the girls to the  Turtle Back Zoo .  I’ve heard mixed reviews about it and was a bit skeptical but fortunately my ‘fears’ did not materialize.  This zoo is lot smaller than the Bronx Zoo, which we love but it is a bit too intimidating for them at this age and it is impossible to cover in a day.  This one is perfect for toddlers – it is easy enough to cover in a day, it has a great play ground, a merry-go-around (we did not have any cash so our poor girls did not get to ride on it) and really cool ‘landscaping’ with giant sunflowers (see below), huge artificial butterflies on the trees, great exhibits which all four of us loved.  And it is so picturesque – I loved photographing the girls there!

Mia and Alexa loved running around, looking at the animals and playing at the playground.  On the way back home I asked them what their favorite thing about the zoo was and they replied ‘Eating pizza in the restaurant’:)

Fun in James McFaul Park in Wyckoff photographing a large family

P. is a great client of mine, whose kids I’ve photographed for almost two years – you can see images from their family session in NYC here and here.   I always look forward to their sessions – I love watching the kids grow and change and I always have so much fun with them.  P. is absolutely hilarious – every time I get an email from her I end up bursting with laughter!

When she asked me if I was up for a challenge of photographing her two kids and four of her nieces and nephews I did not even think twice – I knew it would be a very interesting session. And it definitely was: her Mom and Sisters were just as nice as she was, the kids were happy to be running around in the ‘wilderness’ of New Jersey, I got a very nice workout running after them and everybody had a great time.  And as an added bonus I’ve got a great parenting tip that I will be implementing with Mia and Alexa soon – a ‘bonus points’ system where they get bonus points for doing something well and taken points away if they misbehave.   It sounds like a better parenting than my own old I ‘threat‘ system I’ve been using for a while now:)

So what do you get when you photograph SIX kids all under the age of 6?  You get a fun, fast paced and unpredictable session!    You get ender moments between a brother and a sister  that melt my heart and fun  moments between families.  This was probably the most challenging but the most fun session I’ve had in a LONG time!

and these:

This was probably the most challenging but the most fun session I’ve had in a LONG time!  I am working on the rest of the images and cannot to show them to you guys!
