Photographing tweens and teens at James McFaul Wildlife Center

Being a Bergen County family and children photographer I  mostly photograph families with younger kids…And I  can see why – kids are super cute, they do and say adorable things and they change a lot year after year.  But what about when kids are no longer little kids, when they enter pre-teen and teen years, when chasing after them in backyard, throwing them up in the air or tickling them is not what you do — what do you do then?  Do you stop taking family photos?  No of course not!  My own kids are in middle school now and have entered that a bit of a awkward age – and that does not stop me for photographing them and from scheduling my own family sessions.  These teen years should be captured and treasured just like baby and early childhood years!

Case in point is these three siblings that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a few times in the past.  The oldest one J. is off at college this year but before she went away we were able to fit in a family session -Mom wanted to have photos of these three captured while all three of them still lived at home.  And I  know that these images will be treasured by all of them as they mark an ending of one chapter in this family’s story and a beginning of a new one!
