Trick or Treating in Ridgewood

Mia and Alexa have been looking forward to this Halloween since the day after Halloween last year I think they like it better than Christmas or their birthday!  They asked us whether they were going trick-or-treating ‘tomorrow’ whether it was the middle of winter or summer.  Who can blame them though – you get to dress up and strangers give you candy!

Last year I was able to pick the girls’ costumes myself but this year was a different story.  They did not like any of my suggestions and after looking at tons of catalogs Mia announced that she wanted to be a Spider-woman.  Why Spider-Woman? – I don’t know.. they don’t read any comic books, nor do they watch any cartoons.  But she insisted so after searching tons of websites I was able to get her a cute Spider-Woman costume.  Alexa did not have a strong preference so I got her a Wonder-Woman costume so that their costumes has the same theme (being a Type A Mom that I am, it is very important to me that they are dressed in the same ‘theme’).  Their reaction upon seeing costumes was that of complete awe and excitement  – and as soon as they put the costumes on,  they proceeded to ‘save’ Victor and me.  In their own words, they were ‘super fast’ and ‘super brave’ because ‘they were super-heros’ 🙂

We went trick-or-treating with our next door neighbors – Mia and Alexa has a blast with their friend A.!   I promise that A.’s Mom and I did not coordinate the kids costumes but we ended up with a superhero convention – look how adorable they are!

They did not walk, they ran from one house to another:) Note the snow – first ‘white Halloween’ since 1924!

Trick or treating was a big success and now we have more candy than I know what to do with… Need to find a way to stay AWAY FROM IT!
