Tropical Paradise

Last time we went to Dominican Republic was when Victor and I just started dating – over 10 years ago.   It was a bit surreal being back there: the place seemed frozen in time: the same airport with open air terminals covered in palm trees and a band singing and welcoming us to the country.   Victor and I, on the other hand were in a complete different stage of our lives – instead of being a couple newly in-love on a romantic getaway, were were there with our soon-to-be-3 year old girls, and both sets of parents!

So while this vacation was very different from the one years ago it was just as great.  It was so nice for all of us to spend time together.  Grandparents loved being with the girls and Victor and I love the dates we were able to have because of that.  We even managed to go golfing once!  I did really well in the beginning and we even joked that we found a plan for early retirement – me turning into a golf pro.  But after a few holes it was clear that my going-pro dream would never materialize; I became quite good at driving the golf cart:)

So for a whole week we did a lot of:

– reading books and taking long afternoon naps with Daddy:

– spending time with the Grand Parents:

(here my big and manly Father-in-Law is trying on Mia’s pink sun glasses):

– reading (of course, if you are Mia you cannot read without your pink sun glasses and a matching bracelet)

– and working on projects:

– being ‘up in the air’ – courtesy of Daddy:

– and laughing:

– and playing with Mommy:

– and going incognito

It was a great week!
