Urban Session
It is funny what a small town Ridgewood is – as I was talking to this Mom before the session we found out so many connections – it seems that in Ridgewood ‘six degrees of separation’ is at most 3 degrees! She knew so many people that I knew, grew up a block away where we live, her kids go to the school my girls will go to, etc. Such a small world!
This family photo shoot took place in downtown Ridgewood – I love shooting there – so many great spots – and it works really well for families. As I was driving to this session the sky opened up and it POURED – I panicked a bit but we decided to wait and see and sure enough, after 10-15 minutes the clouds disappeared and we were able to start the session. We even were able to get a few back-lit images that I love so much!
The Mom is not only beautiful but is also a great business woman – she is the founder of Womily – a very unique custom jewelry company. I ordered cuff links with the girls’ finger prints for Victor and he loved them. So if you are looking for a unique gift idea for someone definitely check out her site. But I digress:)
I loved getting to know the kids and I seeing their personalities. It only took a few minutes before we were laughing and goofing off together. Big brother Liam is a huge soccer fan, which is not surprising considering that his father played soccer professionally – found out about that from Liam! So while I was photographing him I’ve learned more about soccer than I ever knew. And Chloe is absolutely hilarious – one of the feistiest girls I’ve met! I love capturing different ‘personalities’ of kids and I was thrilled that I was able to get some images of Chloe lost in thought… I think those are my favorite images of her! These kids have the most amazing eyes – Chloe’s huge baby blue and Liam’s amazing green!
It was a great family session and we were able to get a lot of wonderful images:
During our pre-session consultation their Mom told me that the kids get along great and it was really cool to see that in person. I wonder what they are whispering about – their parents perhaps? Or how silly the photographer is:)
