Weekend in the Berkshires

Remember the days when I used to share photos from our trips to exotic far away places? Yeah… I miss those days. Nowadays the most far away place we’ve been recently is the Berkshires in MA! But let me tell you – if there is something I’ve learnt from this pandemic is that you don’t need to go far away to have a great time – especially if you got your family with you!

A few weeks ago all of us – including both sets of our parents (yes how lucky are we?!!) spent a weekend in the Berkshires. It was the first time all of us were together in the same house in over a year and it was as awesome as you think it was! We ate out, and ate in, explored cool estates and charming New England towns, did some crafting and even went to a museum – all in just under 48 hours!

And if you are looking to plan your own escape to the Berkshires here are a few of our favorites that we explored during this trip:

Restaurants

Morgan House – located in Lee, this place (that has been around FOREVER!) has standard pub fare – but it is delicious!

Timothy’s Italian Restaurant – our favorite in Lee – HUGE portions of delicious old school Italian food (you gotta try their chicken broccoli fettuccini Alfredo – you may need to run a marathon the next day to burn off the calories but it will be worth it!)

Estates/Museums

The Mount – Former Estate of Edith Warton – the main house was closed to the public (I believe they open later in May) but you can do a lovely walk around the grounds

Normal Rockwell Museum and Grounds – we’ve been to this museum twice already (in less than a year) and loved it as much our second time around as we did the first! And once you are done exploring the museum you should definitely check out the grounds – they are stunning!

Towns

There are a few cute towns in Central Berkshires county and they all have a very different look and feel. Our favorites are Lee, Stockbridge and Lenox. They are all pretty small and fun to walk around.

Check back soon – we are planing a number of other trips to the Berkshires!
