I loved photographing this Ridgewood family!  They were referred to me by great clients of mine so I knew right away that a session with them will be great.  They also had a studio session with me earlier in the year but decided to do a Signature Session in the fall.

We started this session at James McFaul park in Wyckoff and then went to their house in Ridgewood to get some images there with their dog.  If there is a dog involved, I am ALL for including him/her in the pictures – I am a HUGE dog person!  My kids keep asking to get a puppy and when we tell them that they cannot even take care of their hermit crab, let alone a DOG, they told us that ‘a hermit crab is TINY and that makes taking care of him difficult, taking care of a puppy would be MUCH easier’:)  But I digress!

Kids were being kids – being silly, running around, finding and playing with feathers, with some snuggles with Mom and Dad in between.  But that’s how kids are and for ME that’s what makes family photography fun and interesting – capturing authentic moments and dynamic images, not perfectly posed portraits where everybody is sitting perfectly still and smiling at the camera – although there are many great photographers that do just that and do that very well.. But that’s not my style and most of my clients seek me out because of my lifestyle photography.

I – and more importantly – the parents – loved how these images turned out and got a number of beautiful wall art pieces to decorate their home with.  And when I delivered their products to their home (I feel like Santa every time I deliver an order!) – this little girl was so thrilled to see the finished pieces – her reaction was priceless – giggles and laughter and so much happiness!  It made my day!:)
