Party of Five: Wyckoff family photo session

I first met this Dad when he came to my studio this year for his professional headshots. A couple of months later this Mom reached out to have her professional headshots done as well. And a few months after that I met the rest of their family when we did their family photoshoot!

I’ve said it before and I will say it again – I love at home family sessions! I love them because people are really the most comfortable at their homes and capturing them in their environment, doing things they love to do makes me happy. I believe my job as a photographer is to capture the essence of people, to freeze moments and create photos that will allow my clients to relieve times in their lives that were chaotic but also full of joy; days of carpools and tons of activities but also days of family game nights and dinners together, playing basketball in the backyard and making chocolate covered strawberries.

And that’s exactly what we did at this Wyckoff family photo session. I got to spend time with each one of these triples – (as a mom of twins who barely made it through their first year I am in AWE of these parents who had not two, but THREE babies to take care of at the same time) and learn just now different they all are. I got to capture them playing with their dogs and shooting hoops and cooking together and laughing – there was a lot of laughter at this photo shoot!

If you are located in Bergen county and are looking for a family photographer to photograph your own family please reach out – I would love to help you capture the beauty and chaos that is your family!

Hanging out with ‘old’ clients in the City

One of my favorite things as as a family photographer is seeing kids grow and change – from newborn to babies, to toddlers to little kids, to big kids! That’s one of the reasons why I always love seeing ‘old’ clients and it was a pleasure reuniting with this family for a family photo session in NYC. I’ve worked with them twice before – once when baby A. was just a few months old and then again last year – when she was just under a year. I was blown away at how much she has changed in just a year – from an adorable baby she turned into a little girl (complete with the most adorable pig tails!) – her stunning eyelashes and adorable smile stayed the same:)

We hung out on the playground – I am always amazed at how ‘busy’ toddlers are – going from one ride-on toy to another, picking up things, and just running around. We all did a fair amount of running that day! And after the playground we went back to the apartment to capture images similar to what we did at their photoshoot a year ago.

If you love images from this family photo session, reach out to me to capture your own magical moments, whether it’s against the backdrop of New York City, charming streets of downtown Ridgewood or in the comfort of your own home anywhere in Bergen County.

Cousins galore | Ridgewood Extended family photo session

When a old time client reached out to me and told me that she wanted to book a Ridgewood family photoshoot with family visiting from France I jumped on this idea.My sister does not live close by (although she does not live as far as France!) and I know how special it is when she and all her kids come to visit – everybody catching up, my kids spending time with their cousins – it’s always so much fun and so special. And you better believe that I have tons of photos of these visits:). So naturally I was thrilled to be able to capture that for a client.

We decided on a downtown Ridgewood for this family photoshoot – I’ve done many sessions there and always love it – it is so charming with many cute areas that make for beautiful backdrops for any time of photo-session from a family one to senior photos! These guys were great to work with and judging by their smiles I don’t think they had too bad of a time at their family photo session:)

If you are interested in a Bergen County family photo session like this one, don’t hesitate to reach out to me and see what fun images of YOUR family we can create together!

Photographing a family of three in Wyckoff | Bergen County family photographer

This handsome guy may look familiar because he was featured on this blog a couple of times last year – first time for his studio Milestone Photos and then again for his studio Christmas photos. This spring was the first time I got to photograph this whole family and it was pretty great!

We chose to have this Bergen County family photo session at James McFaul park in Wyckoff. I’ve done many sessions there and it’s always a perfect backdrop from photoshoot for families with kids of all ages – from babies to active toddlers to even more active boys (who love to climb trees!).

While there were a few posed shots (even as a lifestyle photographer I do appreciate a couple of ‘Christmas Card’ types of images) – the focus of this session was on capturing candid moments of love, laughter and connection between these three. And I believe we succeeded – there were some tender moments and funny moments and lots of snuggles and laughter!

In addition to digital images, the parents ordered a few canvases, which made me very happy because I truly believe that these photos DESERVE TO BE DISPLAYED AND ENJOYED!! And what better way to enjoy your photos than looking at them on your walls every single day:)

Fun Bergen County family photo session at the stable in Ridgewood

I’ve said it before and I will say it again – as a Bergen County family photographer, it’s always a pleasure to work with families year after year and watch their children grow. Back in the fall I photographed a returning family with three very active boys. We decided to do their family session at the Stable in Ridgewood, NJ. We did their session there one year and the boys loved the bridge at the Stable so much that we just had to go back for another session – it was a huge hit!

We met first thing in the morning – I always tell my clients that doing a family photoshoot first thing in the morning when the sun is low is sooo worth it because the light is very soft and pretty and that makes for beautiful images. I loved seeing how much the boys had grown since our last session a year ago.

We started with some simple portraits of the family, but it wasn’t long before the boys wanted to run around on the bridge so running on the bridge they did:). They were full of energy and I loved being able to capture their personalities during this photoshoot. AND we got to capture photos of mom and dad by themselves because those are very important as well and I try to do that at all of my family sessions!

Overall, the session was a huge success, and the family was thrilled with the results. It was an honor to work with them again and to create some amazing memories that they will cherish for a lifetime. If you’re looking for a photographer to capture your family’s special moments, whether it’s at the stable in Ridgewood or any other location around Bergen County, I would be honored to work with you. Contact me today to schedule your session!
