Did you know that in addition to family and children photography I offer commercial photography services for small businesses in Bergen County?  As you can imagine, commercial photoshoots are very different from family sessions – I don’t need to chase kids or roll on the ground with them or tell anyone silly jokes or being a complete goof, which, to be honest, I AM a lot of times even when I am not photographing families!).  I love commercial photography for a number of reasons – I get to connect with small business owners and in some way help them grow and better their business – how awesome is that?!

I will be the first to admit that I am a photo snub – when I am researching restaurants or hotels (and let’s be honest – I do that all the time considering how much I love to travel and eat out!) – I always pay a lot of attention at the images these hotels and restaurants have on their websites.  If it looks like photos were taken with a cell phone I honestly don’t even look past that – unless it is a very authentic hole-in-the-wall restaurant in the middle of nowhere… To me having beautiful professional images on a website speaks volumes about a business – it shows that this business is professional, pays attention to details and is a ‘real deal’ in a way…When I am looking for restaurants I want to see mouthwatering images of their dishes; if I am researching hotels I want to see stunning grounds and beautifully decorated rooms.  And a business can be the best business there is, offer most amazing customer service, cook the most scrumptious cakes but if people don’t see that on their website they may not give this business a try…

So that’s why I get really excited when I do commercial photo sessions and work with Bergen County small business – I get to help them put their best ‘face’ forward for the whole world to see!   I’ve worked with a number of small businesses – local shops, gyms, landscapers, interior designers, dental offices, etc.  Here is a session spotlight of one of amazing Bergen County and NYC interior designers – Laurence Carr.  I’ve worked with Laurie a number of times and I have to say that I just LOVE her work – it is clean and modern and simple and functional and if I could I would have her decorate my whole house!   Check out this stunning house she designed – I love all of it – from custom built-ins to lots of light to a wine cellar to a mediation room – this house has it all!
