Bergen county at home family photo session

Did I tell you how much I love at home sessions? And at home sessions where I can do just my thing and capture parents having fun with their kids are my absolute favorites! Add lots of lot and views of the city – and you got yourself an awesome session!

I had the pleasure of photographing this little one during my holiday mini sessions at my Ridgewood photo studio last year. For this session the parents wanted to do it at their apartment in the city and I was happy to oblige. I gotta say that at the end of the photoshoot I left the session with a huge smile on my face because I had a BLAST!!!

The parents loved it as well – check out this great review the Mom left for me!

Bergen County Family Photos at Ridgewood Photo Studio

As a family and children photographer I photograph my clients pretty much anywhere they want me to – be it outside in a park, at their home or at a few of my favorite go-to location around Ridgewood. But as much as I love on location photography, I do love working at my Ridgewood photo studio. The light there is absolutely stunning (and when mother nature does not cooperate I have plenty of studio light on hand to create that natural light look), it’s spacious and comfortable and is a pretty great spot for family sessions especially now when no one wants to be outside for a photoshoot:)

I feel that when people think of studio photos, many (and if I am being honest, I used to belong to that camp myself!) think of posed, stiffed, matchy outfits types of photos. Am I right??!! Well, there are lot of different types of studio photography out there and when you are looking for a photography studio for your family session you need to make sure you find the one that matches your vision. Family sessions that I offer at my Ridgewood photo studio are very similar to what I offer for my on-location family sessions – they are fun and laid back and the images I strive to create are authentic and natural.

This was my first time meeting and photographing this family of four and they specifically asked me to do a studio session – loved the the esthetic of it with lightly painted walls and white/pastel furniture. The Mom did an amazing job with the outfits – seriously, they looked like they stepped off pages of a magazine! They were loving and sweet and had a great time together – and I think it shows in their photos!

Ridgewood newborn/family session combo

This year I’ve been a mini baby boom here at Live Love Laugh Photos – heard exciting news of my old clients welcoming little ones into their families and meeting new clients who hired me to capture their new bundles of joy. At home newborn/family sessions at some of my favorite sessions to photograph so you can images how happy I am about all these new babies!

I’ve met this Ridgewood family a few years ago when they came to my Ridgewood photo studio to get holiday photos of their three kids (they win most stylish trio award with me every year! And I was thrilled when at their last Christmas photoshoot the mom told me that they are expecting baby #4 to arrive in 2021!

The family took my suggestion to wait till the baby is around 6-8 weeks to do their session and I am so glad they did! Baby Q. gave us great eye contract, and we captured newborn images that the family loved!

And as I always do during my newborn/family sessions we capture lots of family images doing what they do – playing chess, reading in their reading hook, and just having a good ol’ time!

Now looking at these newborn/family photos would not you agree that it’s worth waiting till around 6-8 weeks after the birth to do your newborn session?!

Fall family photo session in Wyckoff

As a family photographer in Bergen county I’ve worked with many many many local families. But as a Mom of twins, other fellow twin families hold a special place in my heart. I absolutely loved meeting and photographing these guys who came to a park in Wyckoff for their family session. The kids were champs and we got lots of lovely photos that I (and what’s more important – the parents) absolutely loved!

Bergen county at home newborn photo session | Photographing a family of five in Ridgewood

I’ve been working with this Ridgewood family for many years – ever since their oldest daughter was just a year old and I loved watching them change from a family of 3 to a family of four. So when this Mom told me they were expecting another addition I was thrilled – I was literally grinning ear to ear the rest of the day:)

Over the years we’ve done many many many photo sessions – from photoshoots downtown Ridgewood and family photo sessions in a park in Wyckoff, to holiday photoshoots and milestone sessions at my Ridgewood studio. But my favorite family photo sessions are the ones we’ve done at their Ridgewood home – and we’ve done a few of those:)

When baby C. was born, we did not even need to think about where we would do that photo shoot – we did it at their home. I just love photographing families in the comfort of their home – after all, most people feel most at home – well, at their home! :). I love capturing kids doing their thing – whether it is playing with their toys, reading books or just being silly! And of course one of my favorite things to photograph is babies in their nurseries – give me all the babies and all nurseries and I will be a happy camper:)

As I always tell prospective clients who are expecting their second, third (or fourth!) addition, for me, a Bergen County newborn session for families with other kids is really a family session with a newborn focus. I capture you being you – kids being happy in their space, babies cuddled up in their cribs, the whole family snuggling together. These are the types of images that bring me joy and feed my soul – and the types of images my clients love and come back to me year after year:)

So here without further ado are highlights from a Bergen county family/newborn photoshoot that took place in the family’s Ridgewood home.
